This semester, MA alumna Sheridawn "Sherry" Peden (MA 2022) joined us in the department to talk about life after GSU. During her time in the Department of Religious Studies, Sherry served as the WellStar Fellow and she was chosen for the 2022 Outstanding Graduate Student Award in Religious Studies. She now serves as a Program Manager for the Morehouse School of Medicine, where she advises students on how to best succeed in their chosen paths.
From Sherry:
"As a Program Manager at Morehouse School of Medicine, I’m tasked with overseeing the daily running of my programs and advising students to ensure their successful matriculation throughout their programs. I’m incredibly thankful to the Religious Studies Department for teaching me to question and problematize the world around me. This has undoubtedly aided in my ability to lead and support a diverse community of students. Additionally, thanks to my fellowship in the Ethics Department at Wellstar Hospital, I successfully submitted a paper to the Journal of Clinical Ethics discussing diversity in the field of Bioethics, alongside several colleagues in the field of Bioethics and Clinical Ethics. Today, I’m looking forward to future opportunities to bring Bioethics and Clinical Ethics into the graduate HBCU space, further providing opportunities for growth and equity in the field."
