This semester, we are reaching out to check in with some of our alumni to see what they've been working on lately. First up, Sabina Ali, MA 2020.
In Sabina's own words:
"I just finished the first semester of the PhD program. I was awarded the Borns Jewish Studies Program Graduate Fellowship to fund the first year, which I am very grateful for. I am just starting as managing editor of the American Religion journal this semester (Spring 2021). I really like the journal's broad approach to "American" and "religion" (departing from US exceptionalism) as well as the inclusion of creative works like poetry and fiction. It's also super exciting to work with Dr. Imhoff, Dr. Harriss, and the other really dope people involved with the journal. I am also an Emissary for Graduate Student Diversity.
I also want to add and be transparent that navigating work/life balance and imposter syndrome, finding a community in a new place, and managing my mental health has been very challenging. I am struggling and that is okay right now."
